Having previously completed the development of a Purchase Order system, Navertech Software was commissioned to develop a workshop timesheet system which could record and report on time recorded by workshop staff against specific jobs and replacing an aged T-Card system.
Starting with a mock-up supplied by the client, a software application was designed in Microsoft Excel to automate the creation of week-based timesheets and allow the easy adding of jobs and employees. Sophisticated reporting was built-in to allow time-based reporting on a per job or employee basis, feeding into the company’s job costing system.
After an extensive trial and testing period, running the old and the new systems in parallel to check the expected outputs, the new application was fully adopted and is massively improving visibility and efficiency of collecting this key information.
