One of the many projects we completed during 2018 was this intuitive "Economy Challenge" tool for the Caithness and Sutherland Regeneration project.
Our remit was to create a tool which could be linked off from the CNSRP website (designed and built by our Navertech Digital division) and would allow people to take the “economy challenge” by adjusting the likelihood of various major projects going ahead, the scale of the job losses at the Dounreay site, and the balance (growth) of jobs in other sectors.
It was a very interesting and rewarding project, having to deal with multiple data sets and then designing a user interface which would not only be intuitive for the user, but one that could display the complex outputs in an easy to digest way.
As well as the tool being a prominent call to action on the Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership website, it has also been used as an engagement tool in primary and secondary schools as part of the Developing the Young Workforce initiative.
It’s not often we get the opportunity to build a project which is open to the public, with most applications we design and build being restricted
